Halloween

Bit late but thought I'd post a few pics of the pumpkins carved by my daughter, Amy. I prepared them by scooping out the flesh and this I made into 3 pumpkin pies (2 with pecans)

and a big bowl of spicy soup. Jacket spuds with chilli completed the Halloween night!

Those pies look absolutely yummy.

I never thought of using the insides for cooking. I shoved it in a bowl with some strawberry jelly and hid the sweets in it for the children to find when they came round trick or treating. The looks on their faces when they had to dip their hands in it. LOL!

Where did you get the recipes? I would like to have a try next year.

Dont think I'd dare dip my hands into that gunk! Bad enough scaping the pips out!
The recipe was an Anthony W Thomson, with a bit of adaptation re the pecans. I used evaporated milk instead of single cream...much sweeter!
